If you are a VFR pilot and finding the weather limiting your ability, then you may find that an instrument rating may be the way out. For those undertaking the Commercial Pilot's Licence, then this rating may be included in your training. The first part of this courseis undertaken in the flight simulator and then the move is to the aircraft. You will find that what you learn in the simulator is very relevant to what you do in the air. You may choose between a single engine or multi engine rating. The cost will vary according to your choice. You will be required to pass the Instrument Rating Exam (IREX), and pass a flight test which will cover the navigation aids that you wish to be endorsed with.
