The ATC 810 Synthetic Flight trainer is used for Initial Command Instrument Rating training as well as recurrent
training programs and Instrument rating renewals. The ATC 810 represents the handling qualities of a Piper PA-31 Chieftain, turbo-charged 10 seat twin.
GPS Training is conducted using the King KLN 89B GPS system.
Utilising the
KLN89B GPS training is conducted for en-route GPS use as well as GPS Arrivals and GPS NPA Arrivals
The course makes extensive use of the ATC 810 IFR Simulator in the initial phases of training to teach the student
the basics of instrument flying and multi-engine handling in a more efficient and cost effective manner than using an aircraft only. The ATC 810 is a true to flight simulator representing the flight characteristics of a 3500kg cabin class twin. IFR training is available from area navigation to instrument approaches on NDB, VOR, DME, LLZ and ILS.
